Philosophy meets Science is being held on
Saturday 25 February, 10am (45mins)
and is an opportunity to ask questions about positive psychology
and hear about the forthcoming Happiness Masterclass
Series.
Supported by practical examples, exercises,
materials, and also including our happiness workbooks, this course
will help you:

Optimism will significantly increase your
chances of experiencing positive moods, help you deal more
effectively with difficult situations and create opportunities, and
will guide you along a more successful path in life. In this
session, you'll become more aware of the impact of your thoughts on
your behaviour and actions and will be shown how to challenge
automatic negative thoughts and plant more optimistic thoughts and
attitudes.
Unhappiness is often a result of spending
too much time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. In
contrast, happy people spend much more of their time living in the
moment. This session will help you learn simple, but powerful
skills to stay focused in the here and now, where happiness really
is!
Research strongly suggests that happy people
have both more and better quality relationships. This refers to
intimate personal relationships as well as all our social and
interpersonal interactions. This session will provide you with a
model for improving your relationships through taking specific
actions to make positive changes now.
Many of us spend far too much time trying to
fix our "weaknesses" and not enough time making the most of our
strengths. This is unfortunate as happiness is partly based on
being aware of our strengths and on using them effectively and
appropriately. This session will help you identify and maximise
your strengths.
One of the factors that most significantly
differentiates happy and successful people is the clarity of their
life direction and goals. Happy people also have a clearer sense of
their values and live in accordance with these. This session will
help you begin the important challenge of defining your life
direction and goals.
NB: We require 5 working days notice prior
to the start of the course if you can't, for any reason, attend
otherwise a 50% cancellation fee will be charged (and any sessions

facilitator, and licensee of the Happiness Institute,
Marisa specialises in providing programs and
coaching to individuals and groups on Positive Psychology and
Well-being; and Emotional Intelligence. Marisa has a Post Graduate
Diploma in Consultancy Psychology, a Cert IV in Training and
Assessment; and an Executive Certificate in Positive Psychology
Coaching.
