The vision of The Bodhi Tree is "to raise the consciousness and wellbeing of the community". This means that in everything we do, how we behave, and what we sell, we strive to ensure it will nurture all of us here on planet earth, starting with our own community.

Our Cafe Food and Drinks
We communicate with our suppliers to ensure that our food is free from any preservatives and additives. Our menu is 90% vegetarian, and we ensure the meat we offer is from free-range animals grown in ethical conditions. Our fresh produce is sourced from local producers, supporting local farmers and ensuring optimum freshness. We are working towards 80% of our food being gluten-free. Our Bookstore
The books we select fit into a wide range of categories, and each book is carefully selected by us. We ensure that those we choose are books that will contribute towards our vision of raising consciousness and wellbeing. The questions we ask ourselves are Is the author qualified to write on the topic? Is the viewpoint non-fundamentalist? Is the underlying message grounded in perennial, ancient wisdom? Will this help someone to improve the life/happiness/wellbeing of themselves or someone else? For novels, our major question is Will this book promote a good feeling? So you won't find crime and horror on our shelves.

Helping Others
Our tip jar is spent on projects that are able to help others directly. To date we have raised funds for the following:
